life as parallel parking

over the weekend i realized that my parallel parking skills
had left me. for no particular reason, they were just gone.
vanished. non-existent. and living in a city where there is
only street parking, this is a skill i need to have. and i tried
to park in a few different spots, one time the space was too small,
another time my wheels kept scraping the curb, a third time the spot
was the perfect size, i just could maneuver my car into it.
and other times i can park without thought, barely have to look and
just slide in. effortlessly, on an exhale. there's no
struggle, no fighting, no baleful looks thrown towards asphalt and
concrete. i just do it and it works out. and it works.
i think this weekend it will work.
i ordered a bunch of prints today from flickr, i can't wait to hang them up!
today feels really good.
